It's My Birthday

First ….some thanks
Thanks to Luann and Natasha for the card – I waited until 8/5 India time. Thanks to Jerry and Tasneem’s class for the phone call. Dad and Jerry thanks for the E cards!! Crowne Plaza thanks for the birthday party and gifts. Everyone has made this day a very special day for me. Who knew spending the day alone could be so warming!

OK – Everyone should get the opportunity to spend their birthday in India. I must admit, I never do anything for my birthday in the states. Rich and I might go out to dinner. However, knowing this I was still a bit sad about being alone on my birthday. That didn’t last for very long.

When I arrived at the Crowne Plaza in Gurgaon , Niharika welcomed me and took me to my room. She arranged for my appointments to get a manicure and pedicure (my gift to myself). I told her it was for my birthday and she insisted that she do something for me. (I never intended/expected to get that response – just was explaining why I wanted them today.) After additional insisting, I agreed. – I should tell you that I learned yesterday some traditions in India include smashing a birthday cake in your face. – We arranged to meet at around 4PM. I followed her instructions and went to the Lilac meeting room….oh my goodness. Look at the pics to see what I found. They had a cake, balloons, drinks, roses, and a gift for me. This has been one of the best birthday’s I have ever had. I can not thank Niharika enough for making this day so special for me. I will treasure the tea box gift set forever. This has been a great day!
