Mom and Dad were on vacation this week. You will never guess where they went/what they did...stayed at home and cleaned the house. I don't mean dust and mop clean. I mean floor to ceiling and all outside. I was getting nervous early on that Buddy and I were going to be given away or sold!!! They started walking around pointed at stuff..."sell it" or "trash it" or "replace it" or "give it away"....I took Buddy outside and told him we needed to be really good that they were going crazy and we needed to keep a low profile.
They keep us, thank goodness, but they got rid of my couch. I don't know why. I now have to fight Buddy for a chance to sit beside Mom in a chair. Do you know how hard it is for me to sit in a chair with someone else? Mom did bring my bed in the living room so I didn't have to lay on the floor.
Buddy didn't like that they keep throwing stuff away and he would grab stuff and take it out to his bed. He had a mound of stuff out there by the end of the week. (The cleaners have named him "Buddy the Bandit"...it fits!) He even tried to drag Mom out there. LOL She was putting on some gloves before her garage sale and he grabbed one on her hand. She walked along with him as he pulled her glove and hand to the doggie door. Only problem - he couldn't pull Mom through the door. It was FUNNY.
The first day of vacation, Mom gladly volunteered to pick up a movie. She took me with her too. We went to red box and she must have been so tired from the work she did that she didn't notice she was opening the car door into her forehead!!! She got in the car and had a dent in her head...then it started bleeding. She called her Dad to make sure she didn't pass out. This didn't seem to phase her, she was back at it Tues Morning.
Luckily, I got to go to daycare a couple days. There was so much action around the house that daycare seemed like a break. However....Mom let me of leash and I ran out the door. That was so much fun, I checked out all the local businesses until Mom and Dad trapped me in a corner. Freedom was fun for a few minutes.
It has been a while since Mom has had time to help me post. (She did some traveling in Nov. - To DC, Reston, and Philly for Dad's race). So I feel I have to give you an update for a couple weeks ago. I HAVE TO GO ON A WEIGHT LOSS PLAN. The vet said I needed to lose some weight. So Mom has been taking me running with her and she's stopped giving me treats. UGH Love getting out but no treats is taking it a bit to far...don't you think?

Update from Emma
I had an awesome day today. Mom took me out for a walk/run. I got to corner a cat under a tree and chase two squirrels. I also picked up a tick rolling in the open grass. Mom got it off before it attached to me. She has a eye for those varmints.
Buddy has been a true misfit lately. He ran out of daycare before Mom and Dagny could get them, then tried to get into somebody else's car, and then when Mom grabbed him he bit her several times! She had three cuts that brought blood. When she got him in the he got the ear twist )that is like getting a major spanking in case you didn't know.) I was like you did it now Buddy.
Then when we had company last week (Dad's parents) he tried to eats their plastic can with nuts in it, knocked their camera off the table, and chewed on Pap-paw's hand gripper. He didn't care for Buddy so much, he likes me best. But Miss Teresa did like Buddy, probably because he likes to be petted.
Mom will be posting some pictures later this week, she made us costumes for Halloween and she and Dad took us to Pier Park to show them off. She literally sprayed black hair spray on me. I was Scobby Doo, and the kids loved me. Buddy, was a gangster with a big necklace and tough t-shirt. He was mean like a gangster too. After they paraded us around (for Mom's benefit I am sure) we got to shed the costumes and play at the park. Dad let me off leash - ah it was a nice 10 minutes of FREEDOM. Then he started running away so I had to go catch him.
Mom also has a picture of us sleeping together on the couch, I don't like the picture but Mom thinks it's soooooo cute.
I have to say, as crazy as Mom is with the clothing, she does make sure we are feed and safe. She even gave us a pigs ear tonight - ah we have it made.

Update from Buddy
Hello All
I have been in a little trouble lately. I bit Mom a couple of weeks ago. She was trying to get me when I was getting in a car...my favorite thing in the world to do!! I didn't know the car belonged to someone else. Oops
I was also wrongly accused of bringing in ticks. Apparently, ticks are bad this year and Mom failed to keep Emma treated for ticks. So she used my front line for Emma! After that, the ticks count started to decrease....now who would you say was bringing in the ticks???
I have also be getting in trouble at daycare...yikes. I bark at other dogs for no reason, and that is not acceptable social behavior. Mom has now started trying to acclimate me to other dogs. Yeah, just what I want more dogs to deal with. Why can't she just leave me in the backyard.
We had company last week, the guys parents and DOG came to visit. I didn't like her at first, them I got to smell her butt and decided she was ok. I liked the Mom, she would pet me forever and liked me sitting in her lap. She also liked my new shaved hair cut.

Buddy's Update
Hello - I don't have much time, I have to get back out in the sunshine. I like staying outside during the day. I have found me a cool spot, back behind the pool pump in the corner of the yard. I can keep an eye on the neighbor's dogs not be disturbed when Emma comes out and bask in the sun. Ah - it's the life.
I did want to tell you one thing, that guy thinks he is allergic to me. Now could he be allergic to me and not Emma? This allergy thing is a big deal, huh? Mine are much better, but I still sneeze every now and then.
Emma still sneaks and eats my food sometimes, I am too afraid of her to tell Mom. She is being nice to me and I want to keep it that way :-)
Off to the sunshine - have a good week.

Emma's Weekend Wrap-up

Yippee - I spend Saturday morning with Mom. Just me and Mom. We went and watched Dad run his 1/2 marathon and then to Barking on the Bay. I got a big bone to eat and....my favorite thing in whole wide world....to run through agility tunnels. It was great.
Dad is training real hard for his marathon, Mom has slacked off since her race. Dad is getting mad at her! She is telling him she is going to do a 1/2 in December, we'll see. It's getting cold here, and she HATES it when it is cold. She'll have to run a bunch at the gym to make her promise.
Let me give you an update on the runt. He has no fear. He still slips and slides around the house. He is not afraid of arthritis like I am. Maybe he doesn't know this behaviour can hurt his joints. He also still walks and now sits underneath me in the car. I have to watch where I step so I don't crush him.
Last week he got another pair of Mom's shoes, one of her new pair! He has learned to jump up on the bed, and Dad is not happy about that. He doesn't like Buddy on the bed. And frankly neither do I. For the most part, Buddy hangs out outside, he is not too much of a pain. He did cause Mom to get me some new food :-)
Something I haven't told you about him, he is a pack rat. That's what Mom calls it, and she thinks it "cute". Dad just ignores it. I think it is embarrassing and a double standard on the parents part. He drags things outside and keeps all his toys outside on what used to by my bed. One night Dad was looking for his underwear, after getting out of the shower, and Buddy had it on the bed laying on it. When I was little I got in trouble for running outside with stuff and Dad made me keep my toys in my toy box when I wasn't playing with them. Why doesn't he make Buddy do that?
I am posting some picks Mom tried to take of Buddy and his collection so you can see what I am talking about.

Triathlon - forgot a couple things
I forgot to tell you that there were ANTS everywhere. I have several bites and when walking down for the swim had 10+ crawling up my foot.
The other thing, pay close attention to the sign on the video....had I seen this prior to looking at the video in McDonald's it would have been the end of my race before it began!

Melissa's Triathlon
Emma reluctantly gave me permission to use the Blog this weekend!
I did my first triathlon this weekend. Now it was not an Ironman, it was a mini mini one....1/3 mile swim, 12 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
It was scary, fun, and exhausting! Rich videoed it and you can see a 10 minute snap shot of the event on YouTube.com (enter Melissa's First Triathlon or Tynman)
I have been training for 4 weeks, and still can't free style swim without freaking out. But I did the mileage this Thursday and decided it was do-able.
So the morning starts out COLD (cold to me - it was like 68) and I am really worried about freezing in the water. So I walked down to the bay and checked out the water temperature after I set-up my stuff.
It was chilly but not unbearable. I started walking out to see how far I could walk versus swim (that was my strategy - to walk as much as I could to save my energy for what I could do ...bike and run.)I got about 6 feet out and ran into a bunch of weeds. This was a problem........a man was there with me and he picked up a sea thing (looked like a mini porcupine) and explain that if was excruciatingly painful if you stepped on one. (By the way, you couldn't see it without pulling apart the weeds and picking through them.) I asked him what this blue thing was next to my feet, as he was say "Oh that's a blue crab" IT MOVED. I screamed, jumped back, lost my flip flops, and checked to make sure the crab didn't get me. At this point, I was getting NERVOUS and started talking to myself to keep from FREAKING OUT. (BTW - The guy in the water had on water shoes, ducked taped to him to prevent him from stepping on something. He apparently was in the air force and had a lot of experience swimming in this area.)
So I head back to the transition area chat with a former employee and use the restroom (in a portal potty).
TIME FOR the RACE
The organizer talks through the basics and cautions us on the bike course to watch out for deer and wild turkey. She explained that they have been know to jump out in front of you. I spontaneously spouted out "are you serious", she responds with a chuckle "Yes but I am sure we will be fine today".
It time - the horn blows - I pace myself, planning to be at the back of the pack to keep from being kicked or hit in the mad dash of real swimmers. I basically tip toe out to the weeds and start swimming. About 5 strokes in, I'm tired. Time to roll over to my old faithful side stroke. I am hanging out at the very end of the swim with three guys. They are as bad as I am, maybe even worse (if that is possible). One of the guys and I get tangled up coming around the second buoy. He jokes about his wife thinking we have something going on, I was so tied I couldn't speak so I just laughed. I was thinking, I am so tired, I couldn't lift a leg to save my life.
I finish the swim and slowly walk to get my bike. So slow that Rich starts pointing out that if I would hurry I could beat the other three people who have not left with their bike yet. LOL
I get on my bike (Rich's hand me down, it's his bike from college) and head out. Got my energy back and competitiveness sets in. I bike at a 16.3 mile pace (my fastest to date) and pass everyone that I can see in front of me on the course, that's about 12 people. I didn't see any deer or turkey, but I did see a dead coral snake in the road.
Now to the run, legs are like concrete, but still have the energy and competitive blood flowing. About 1/2 mile in the heat sets in and I am not sure if I will be finishing this thing. I did pass two people and longed for the 1.5 mile water station. Finally I get there, two sips and the rest I pour over me. That was good for about 10 seconds. It was HOT now. I manage to finish and I didn't resort to walking. I finished in 1 hour 33 minutes and 50 seconds. That is 6 minutes faster than my goal, so I called it a success and make my way to the food station for a banana.
I end up getting a slice of pizza (the smell was overwhelming calling me), a cookie, and a banana. We then were off to McDonald's so Rich could get some breakfast and it's all over by 9:30 AM.

Emma's Update
I am signing up for a computer class. Mom is too busy and she is impacting my ability to update you guys on my new life with Buddy.
I have to tell you the funniest thing....Buddy thinks I am a tunnel. He walks underneath me now all the time. Even when I am in the front seat of the car he walks right under me to look out the window. I have to ask him, do you know I can sit down on you at anytime?
Oh, guess what, I got some new food! Dad has been bugging Mom to get me some better tasting food. Since I am always trying to eat Buddy's. She finally did, and I gobbled it down so fast I got sick. Yelp, got sick in the bedroom and outside. All that good food went to waste. It does taste better, or at least different from the boring food I've had to eat since my hair starting falling and they found out I had allergies.
I should give you an update on Mom and Dad. Mom was still active getting those petition things last week. Hope it pays off for us! Mom and Dad are both training a bunch. Mom was so excited today, she swam .3 miles in the ocean. That's a big deal in case you don't know. She is terrified of water that is not clean (like she only will get in pool water) and she is terrified that she can't swim good enough. I think she might have over come some of her fears. She said she was going to do the triathlon for sure now. Dad is getting frustrated with his training. He has a marathon next month and he really wants to break 4 hours. I may have to step in and help them train. I am a great swimmer and my legs make for good running!

Buddy's Update
WOW - I got in trouble this week. That guy kept telling me to get out of the bedroom so Mom could clean up Emma's throw-up....but I just looked at him. When we tried to push me, I growled at him and he grabbed me by the neck and threw me into the living room. YIKES I think I will listen to him better from now on!!!
I have been sick these last couple of weeks, something called allergies. I was sneezing like crazy. Really, like every two minutes constantly. Mom tried to give me medicine, but I spit it out and tried to bite her. Then she tried giving me some liquid medicine in my food, but I didn't eat it. I don't need medicine - I'm from the country. And yes I am better. SEE MOM I can take care of myself.
Mom found out that I may not be a big fan of daycare. So now I get some peace and quiet two days a week. Home alone without Emma, I have the whole house to myself!

Buddy's Update
My turn....
This week I have more questions than updates..
Why do dogs hang their head out windows when there is clean, cool air blowing out the car vents? Is that a city dog thing? Emma does it all the time, I don't understand it.
Why do dogs get covered up at night....and wake their owners to re-cover them in the middle of the night? I have been outside when it was below freezing and no one covered me up. Again, this must be a city dog thing. Emma does this, if she gets uncovered, she wakes Mom up. Mom has to pick up the blanket and let her circle around on her bed until she finds her spot and then Mom covers up again. I mean really - it is like 70 degrees in here - is this necessary? What would happen if she didn't get covered up? Oh, and I should mention she has a down comforter for her blanket.
Why do dogs drink out of a bath tub, when they have clean water in a bowl next to their food? Again - city thing?? Yes, Emma does this too. She goes and gets in the AND she stays in there even if she is done, until they come back and help her out of the tub. Crazy huh.
If you know the answers, please let Mom know so she can tell me.

Emma's Update
Sorry this is late, Mom has to help me type and she has been gone all weekend.
She went out petitioning on Saturday. I told her I could help, I would just growl at people and they would sign....she didn't think that was a good idea. She explained to me that people have to be willing to sign and we can't force them. I say, force is fine with me - this could me doggie daycare to me.
She was gone early Sunday, to work, and then Dad and her went to work on that triatholon stuff. That is getting old, they are spending way to much time training and not enough laying on the couch with me!
Dad's gone running now, so Mom's typing this for me as I lay in her lap. I think Buddy is ready to chat so I'll talk to you later (not because Buddy is waiting, because I am ready to fall asleep.)

Labor Day Weekend (Emma's View)
What a fun weekend - Mom and Dad surprised me - Guess what....I got to do?????
They took me (JUST ME) on a boat with other dogs and their parents to an island. I got to run all over the place and play in the Bay and the Gulf. I was on cloud 9 - Mom and Dad seemed to have fun too. I am posting some pic of my great day.
Mom was gone most of the week, so we didn't get to go to daycare as much this week. Dad did take us on Monday (that's just because he had too - he does not like to because it is out of his way). I over heard him telling Mom that we were in need of some daycare and he couldn't wait until she got back. I guess we were too energetic for him - lol.
I just can't stop thinking about that trip to the island. It was so much fun. I got to play with all kinds of dogs and everyone thought I was such a good looking dog (I get that all the time). I had kids chasing me around trying to pet me. It was a blast. One of the other dog owners even gave me some of her goldfish for a snack.
One bad thing might have happened...some of my care taker's from daycare were there and they talked to Mom and Dad. (See the thing is - I do a great job of deflecting the bad stuff they hear about me and only ok the good stuff to get to them). The staff told them I was good all day, until the other dogs start going home.....and that I bark constantly until I get picked up. That's not true - I don't bark "constantly". Dad told Mom to talk to Dagny about this behavior.........
Let me say one more time - had a blast this weekend and still sleeping off the excitement today.
Labor Day Weekend (Buddy's viewpoint)
I learned this week, Emma can be good for something. Mom left us this week and Emma knew it was coming. I have to learn this trait. I knew something was up....when Emma got off the couch and followed Mom around like a "puppy dog" after Mom brought a big black box thing in from the garage. So we slipped and slided all over the floors trying to keep up with Mom as she rushed around for something.....Turns out she was going somewhere.
That meant - we are home alone with the guy she lives with. Uh oh, I was not to sure about this. She always watches out for me, and who will FEED ME??? That guy turned out to do a pretty good job. He even went out and bought me some fancy food. He took us to daycare on Monday. I think I made him mad, I jumped out as soon as we got there. I didn't want him to have to wait for me, but he yelled at me and ran and picked me up. (Guess he is not used to the drop off routine we have with Mom) Then Emma and I embarrassed him when we barked a bunch at a pit-bull dog behind the front desk. I think he was glad to leave us! Then I started thinking...will he come back and get us?? He did, and he came early - yippee we were not the last dogs to get picked up. Emma was going crazy so this must be a big deal.
Mom and the guy have been gone a lot this weekend. I think they are training for a triathlon, whatever that is. I know the guy reads stuff to Mom at night about it.

New Bro Buddy (Emma's perspective)
Gee wiz, this new runt is taking over, and I am getting tired of it. Not liking it one bit. Do you know he gets good - real good- tasting food? When I try to sneak some I get yelled at, and have to eat my yucky blan "allergy" free food. What are allergies anyway, who cares, give me thte good grub PLEASE.
So, Buddy apprently passed the daycare test. Yes, he went each day with me this week. I am glad he has to stay in the middle dog group, I don't want him cramping my style at daycare.
The only thing I have off my own is the bed with Mom and Dad. He's so small he can't even jump up on it. So I just lay up there and bask in the enjoyment of laying next to Mom....at least until Dad kicks me out. Apparently, I cramp his space and he can't sleep with me in the bed. Non the less, I enjoy laying up there during TV time and Buddy has to lay on one of our dog beds or the floor. haha little runt.

My New Family (Buddy's perspective)
Welp - I think I am settled in. I am a star like my big sister now. The vet people knew me today when I got my stitches out. Speaking of my sister, she is a character. Always barking and running to the window, I follow her thinking something big is about to happen, but I never see anything. Based on her behaviour at home, you would think she would protect Mom, right? Well, this week we were riding with Mom and we stopped and a woman started getting into the car. Sis did nothing!! What if she was going to hurt Mom....so I jumped up and started growling fearcly at this woman. Odd to me...Mom got on to me. Turns out she knew the lady, and she rode in the car with us. I am not sure how I am going to learn this kind of stuff, to keep from getting into trouble.
I ended up riding in the lady's lap, she was a cool person, and obviously a dog lover. Emma kept smelling her and had her head over this ladies while I sat in her lap. She has to love dogs, no matter how bad you need a ride, most people wouldn't put up with that.
Now let me tell you about this daycare thing....I have never seen such posh dogs in my life. You would not believe the stories they tell me! Some of these dogs have their own bedroom! and they have clothes. Can you believe that, they have clothes. LOL No normal dog would wear the stuff I've seen.
One last note, I have decided to growl every once and a while, for no reason, just to make sure Emma knows I mean business. So far it is working, I am really terified of her, but living in the country has taught me that you have to be strong and stand your ground.

Week 3 (Buddy's Perspective)
Hello - You have been reading about me - the runt, misfit, crazy dog, etc That's what my sister calls me. Typical sibling stuff.
Well this girl that I used to play with, (untying her bathing suit top and dragging it around the yard and drinking her Mt Dew out of a straw) from a long time ago took me away from my home a couple of weeks ago. She was nice, so I went with out a fight, but didn't know what was going on really.
I miss my big ol' duplex house and my massive yard in TN and the guy that fed me all the time and watching the child at play in the the pool. But I am happy here too.
This lady, brought me to her house and she has a guy and a big dog who live with her. I was scared at first and never wanted to be away from her. I don't think I slept for two days when I got there.
Since then, I have adjusted well and even learned not to pee inside. (A new thing for me). I have been to the vet, had something terrible done to my private area and my teeth cleaned. When I woke up I was missing a tooth too. That thing had been hurting for a while but just assumed it was something that comes with age. I am old you know. Although, you wouldn't know it compared this big dog I live with now. She sleeps a lot more than me.
I have been doing a lot of new stuff since I moved in with this lady. I have a new leash, that I hate - I have no control and can't run off. But I have been on walks, in car rides (and not just to go to the vet!), and a new concept - doggie daycare. We had never heard of this - the country dogs I chat with in TN. There were dogs everywhere, all kinds. And by all kinds I don't just mean breeds, like snooty dogs, neurotic dogs, and even scared dogs. I just pranced around and kept an eye on the big dog I live with to protect me. It was fun...until this girl put me in the bath thing. I hate bathes, I tolerate them with the nice lady, but that's it. I got in big trouble cause I snapped at the girl. Then they cut all my hair off!! I have never had a hair cut. I feel like I lost 5 pounds.
I wasn't sure about this new "due" until I got home. The guy that lives there loved my new look and hugged on me and kissed me. He hasn't paid much attention to me until now. (FYI from Melissa - Rich likes clean dogs)
I am tired of talking and need to run out and pee and sniff a bit - talk to you soon.
If the man who used to care of me reads this - Thanks - I got a perfect health report. You did a great job.

Buddy week 3 (Emma's Perspective)
Well it looks like the runt is going to be a permanent member of the family. I am ok with this as long as it doesn't impact what I get (treats and stuff you know) and my attention.
Do you want to know how I know he is staying.....HE WENT TO DAYCARE. Yelp, the one thing I had of my own. And he did good with the other dogs. Can you believe that? If I'd had a heads-up on this I could have got a pack together and maybe made him nervous or something. Oh well, while he did good with dogs....he did not do so well with the humans. ha ha
He bit the volunteer who gave him a bath. I think I should tell you that I am one of the BEST DOGS there when it comes to getting a bath. Yes The BEST, Dagny brags on me to Mom.
Another sign he's sticking around...Dad has been loving on him. Especially since he got him from daycare.
The runt fell in the pool today again. Mom and Dad seem really worried about that, I guess he didn't get swimming lessons where ever he came from. I bet they train him ..... and here again another thing I have to share.
I tell you, I never realized how special it was to be the only dog in the family.

Buddy week two (Emma's)
I got in trouble this week!!! I was all snuggled up in Mom's lap and she was petting me. Things were great....then Buddy popped his head up and she started petting him too. He was getting to close to my head and taking some of my attention away, so I reached up and snapped at him. Almost got his head...oh man Mom yelled at me. I thought I was the good one, since he's the one that has been getting in trouble but not this weekend.
As for Buddy, he had to go to the vet this week. He stayed overnight, so I had Mom and Dad to myself. I had been to daycare, and they didn't tell me about this luxury I was going to get when I got home, so I played my little heart out. I was so tired when I got home, I couldn't even enjoy the alone time, I crashed on the couch and sleep all night.
Dad's been gone for a couple of days. So I've been sleeping with Mom. But the little runt has been sleeping in MY BED. That is going to have to change....I'm not sleeping in the floor when Dad get back...NO WAY. I am a big dog and need my orthopedic comfy bed.
Runt (my name for Buddy) has been good this week. Mom left him in the house with me Saturday. I tried to get him to pee in the house, but he just wouldn't. Of course she was all excited when she came home and he had not messed with anything or peed anywhere. I have to find a way to trick him...I'm working on it. She took us out for a walk too, he likes to walk like I do. Must be a dog thing. He hasn't learned that the gentle leader is a must and is still trying to scratch it off. Mom had to keep correcting him. I was a perfect big dog, never pulled her, never got in trouble, just sniffed and pranced around like the princess that I am.
When Runt came home from the Vet, he had pills. It's been entertaining watching Mom try to get him to take them. LOL He has bitten her, growled at her, and bitten some more...but she got the pills down. Dad has a plan that hiding them in turkey would work. (It works on me) But Buddy can't swallow the turkey whole...they didn't account for that. He bit into a pill and started shaking his head like it was the worst tasting thing he'd ever had. Haha
Mom bought him another bed, now he as two like me. She put it in the living room, so guess what....he is staying in here with us now and not in the bathroom where is other bed is at. Ugh.
Well that's the highlights for this week. Talk to you next weekend.

Week One with Buddy (Emma's perspective)
Well the misfit seems to be settling down and fitting in a bit. He's still weird. He will sit and stare at a door or or the air...what's the point. I have taught him, with my fierce voice, not to try and mess with my back side. I was going to train him not to eat my food, but I got to thinking....I could eat his. So I tried that, and it was tasty, not blah like my alergy free food. So eat up Buddy, I'm sneaking your food. I am enjoying it while I can, cause when Mom finds out I will back to my blan food. She doesn't those bumps that come up and for my hair to fall out. I personally don't care.
Wednesday was Mom's birthday, and I let her love on me. ( Which was nice for her, since I don't like lovey dovey stuff) Buddy, on the other hand, chewwed the black pair of shoes she had set out. Yelp, told you he was a misfit. What 14 yr old dog chews shoes - this one. Mom was understanding, not like when I was a pup and destoryed her shoes!
Buddy is still being house trained, so I still have the run of the house to myself. Keep peeing on stuff Buddy, and you will never get to sleep on the couch during the day. ha ha
While he is a certified crazy dog, he is pretty nice to us. I can see why Mom likes him. Don't tell her that!

My first weekend with Buddy
(from Emma's perspective)
You will not believe what was in the car with Mom when she can home. Another Dog! You would think after going through three foster dogs she would learn this is not a good idea. I know she means well, so I have started playing along. I was nice and let Buddy smell me and I returned the introduction. Then the dog went and peed on Dad's garage cabinet. (Good thing Dad wasn't home.)
So this dog is a bit of a mental case, I think. He bit Mom, when we she was trying to stop him from growling at me. Good thing she was ok or I would have had to take him down. (Saving that for the right time.) He is constantly moving around and checking stuff out...it makes me tired. So I go take a nap. He has done some funny stuff....like running in and out of the doggie dog for no reason, walking underneath me, and splattering water on the wall after his bath. He doesn't know anything.
It sounds like he has to have some surgery before he gets to try daycare. Thank goodness, I like my alone time with Mom and control of the car security.

Update
It's been a while...Freddie - who's real name was Frankie - was adopted at the end of November by a great couple. He has a wonderful home and family now. I do still see him and his owner at daycare.
No more offshore travel for work. That is great for our onshore employees. Trouble times with upcoming legislation that could impact our company. We will see, still working like a busy bee.
Took on a new task....didn't think I had enough going on....I brought Buddy home with me yesterday. Yes you read it correctly. I felt so sorry for him when I saw him this summer just looking at everyone so sad that he was in his lot. We will see how it goes. Dad was very accommodating and will let me bring him back if it doesn't work out.
So for the next couple of weeks, to provide you some entertainment, I will be updating my site about Buddy from EMMA's perspective. Hope you enjoy.
